Description of
the course:
|
A great
way to spend your holidays, which allows you to combine intensive learning of
Polish and getting to know the country and the region, its culture, history
and monuments. The classes are taught on different levels by experienced and
competent teachers. If you are a beginner, it will allow you to quickly learn
the basics of the language, necessary in the most important communication
situations (conversations at work, at the post office, at the railway
station, at the doctor's; shopping, asking for directions, etc.). More
advanced students will have a chance to develop their speaking, reading,
writing and grammar skills. The classes concentrate on developing students'
speaking abilities, expanding their vocabulary and grammar knowledge, and
teaching them how to read and write different types of texts.
Apart
from the Polish classes, the students can also participate in lectures on
Polish culture, literature, politics and other social issues, taught in
English by our university staff.
We have
also planned a variety of cultural and sightseeing activities
(extra-curriculum activities and trips are included in the course price!).

Cultural and sightseeing activities
Each two- and three-week session starts with an
inauguration ceremony. At the end of the session participants receive
certificates during a final graduation ceremony. Two social gatherings in local
pubs and clubs are planned as well as a bonfire, museum tours, concerts and
films. After the inauguration ceremony participants can take part in a free,
guided sightseeing tour of Toruń. On Sundays, two trips outside Toruń are organized: one to Malbork and another one to Gdansk and Sopot.
